ABOUT US

The District Agricultural Advisory and Transfer of Technology Centre (DAATTC), Kurnool was established on 08.12.1998 at Agriculture Market Committee (AMC), Kurnool. The District Agricultural Advisory and Transfer of Technology Centre (DAATTC) works mainly on Farmer-Extension-Research interaction model. As per the administrative decision of the University,DAATT Centre was relocated to Banavasi, Yemmiganurmandal from 16.11.2017 to 31.09.2021. Again from 01.10.2020 onwards they were restored back to AMC, Kurnool and extending services to farmers from Kurnool head quarter.Presently DAATT Centre, Kurnool has 2 scientists having specialization in Crop protection, and Transfer of Technology (ToT).DAATT Centre is an independent unit and is being operated with administrative and financial autonomy based on the lines of KVK.

LINE OF CONTROL:

The DAATT Center shall be under the overall technical and administrative control of the Associate Director of Research, RARS, Nandyalwho in turn shall be responsible to the Director of Extension, ANGRAU, Guntur on extension activities of the centre. District Level Coordination Committee (DLCC) was constituted to oversee the functioning, planning, coordination and execution of activities of DAATT Centre with following members.

The members of DLCC under item no. iv, v and vi shall be decided by the Coordinator, DAATT Centre in consultation with the Associate Director of Research of RARS, Nadyal and district heads of the line departments and should getapproval from the Director of Extension, ANGRAU, Guntur. District Level Coordination Committee will decide the joint action plan of DAATT Centre in relation to the farm and farming systems in Kurnool district. District Level Coordination Committee will meet once in a year to decide action plans, to review the work done in previous year in the district to suggest improvements needed, whereas the heads of the concerned line department officials of the district will prepare the action plans for the district and present before DLCC for discussion and approval.

STATE LEVEL COORDINATION COMMITTEE

Similarly there will be a state level coordination committee headed by Vice-Chancellor, ANGRAU with the following members to coordinate, plan, supervise and review the functioning of the DAATT Centre.

MAJOR AREAS OF FUNCTIONING:

District Level Coordination Committee will work on Farmer-Extension-Research interaction model. The DAATT Centre though independent,works in close coordination and cooperation with the line departments to avoid any duplication for functions. Areas of functioning of the centre will be decided by District Coordination Committee which decides joint annual action plans of the centre well in advance of the Kharif and Rabi seasons. However DAATT Centre will concentrate on the following areas/activities with the cooperation of line departments in the district.

  1. A. Agriculture/Horticulture/Sericulture

    1. Developing the data base of the district in relation to agriculture/horticulture/sericulture.
    2. Assessment and refinement of the crop production technologies.
    3. Soil and plant problem diagnosis and remedy.
    4. On-farm research
    5. Surveillance and forecasting of pests and diseases on continuous basis.
    6. Popularization of vermicompost and bio-fertilizers.
    7. Popularization of biological control on pests of corps.
    8. Dissemination of watershed technology.
    9. Production of quality seed and planting materials.
    10. Popularization of improved agricultural implements.
    11. Identification of improved post-harvest and storage technologies.
    12. Maintaining farm information and guidance centres.
    13. Practicing sustainable agriculture and environmental pollution control practices.
    14. Acting as consultants in training programmesto be organized by line departments.
    15. Implementation of the RAWE programme of the University.
    16. Any other activity suggested by ANGRAU from time to time.
  2. B. Veterinary

    1. Development of district data base.
    2. Disease diagnosis and remedy.
    3. Conduct fertility/sterility/specialized animal health camps with the cooperation of line departments.
    4. Poultry management.
    5. Aquaculture/pisciculture
    6. Fodder development programmes.
    7. Acting as consultants to the line departments in trainings of officials and farmers.
    8. Internship of veterinary students.
    9. Any other activity suggested by ANGRAU from time to time
  3. C. Home Science

    1. Development of district data base.
    2. Women literacy.
    3. Nutrition of rural women and children.
    4. Health and hygiene.
    5. Consumer education.
    6. Identification of food adulteration.
    7. Clean milking practices.
    8. Safe drinking water.
    9. Waste recycling and utilization.
    10. Conservation of energy resources.
    11. Popularization of economically viable and environment friendly agriculture.
    12. RAWE programme of the home science students.
    13. Skill oriented training of women in agriculture.
    14. Any other activity suggested by ANGRAU from time to time
  4. D. Common activities

    1. Development of district data base.
    2. Development of training manuals.
    3. Distance education.
    4. Village adoption.
    5. Training of trainers.
    6. Information sharing centre and sale counter.
